Lab overview
The Surface Probe Microscopy (SPM) Laboratory hosts Raman microscopes and AFM’s for chemical imaging and surface morphology studies. SPM Core Lab team provides hands-on training sessions for users new to these techniques.
- All lab users must be fully trained and authorized (certified) to use the equipment in the lab facility. We offer training courses for all of the equipment. If you have to cancel your training, please do so at least 48 hours in advance.
- Users must comply at any time to KU health and safety policies. No users will be allowed in the lab if they did not attend the EHS training for lab access.
- The lab custodian must be notified immediately of any unsafe conditions observed. All equipment damages must be reported promptly, with the date and time of the incident to the lab custodians.
